4D Pictures - What a Great Experience

I was literally giddy Friday night and Saturday morning anticipating getting to see our daughter in 4d. Had I realized when I made the appointment that our little one would get in a sleeping pattern in the womb, I wouldn't have made the appointment for 10:00 a.m. - she's always asleep then. We left at 9:30 so we'd have time for a quick sugar/caffeine fix (glazed donut and a coke) hoping that Baby GoodNix would be "encouraged" to move around for the photo shoot. When I first hopped on the table and we saw her, she was in a good position and we got to see her face almost immediately.

But then she settled into a good sleeping position and turned away from the "camera." No amount of poking or prodding on my part could convince her to move.

Shelly, the owner of this StorkVision location, had me get another drink and walk the halls. Unfortunately, nothing I did could convince her to turn around. The hard-headedness definitely runs in the family! Shelly (really sweet woman) invited us to come back in a couple of hours so we could try again. That was just fantastic of her. She did encourage us to eat lunch before you return. We went to Right Start to look at baby strollers and car seats, then had lunch at Pot Belly (no pun intended) before heading back. I was not really hungry, but ate anyway hoping that this would get her moving.

This time, we got what we were wanted - fantastic pictures of our little one, moving around, kicking, trying to stick her hand in her mouth. It is hard to believe that she is going to be here in just 3 short months (or less)!!

Still looking for the perfect bedding...

I found one Rose and Stars option that I really like at Posh Tots. It would look great in the baby's room without having to change the paint, which is a soft green already - though our room is painted a subtler green than the one in this picture. I also think the bedding would look fantastic in the espresso sleigh bed from Pottery Barn that we chose. And I can add cute lamb accents to the room along with roses and stars.

I also like these:

Ready to Decorate the Nursery!

Steve and I finally settled on a layout for the nursery and picked a crib. Here it is, except it will probably be dark brown.

I'm having a hard time picking out the bedding and other linens for the nursery. I am pretty sure I want to do a lamb theme. But I can't find one that I love. A friend of mine found out that Restoration Hardware just started offering baby furniture and linens. I found a fantastic option.... if we were having a boy. Unfortunately, this set only comes in blue, but isn't it cute?

I also found two moses basket options for the first several weeks. There is just a simple moses basket from RH which comes with a rocker (no wheels). And one at Pottery Barn that isn't as cute (wonder if the linens can be changed?) but has wheels!

4D Appointment Scheduled

We scheduled a 4D appointment for Saturday morning, August 30, which will be Week 27 for Baby Girl GoodNix. Many of Mary's PPG (previously pregnant girlfriends) strongly urged us not to miss this experience. 4D sonograms are relatively new. Here is an example of a 4d sonogram. Isn't technology amazing?!

We selected a location in Frisco called Storkvision. They suggested that I eat a snack on the way to the appointment so that we'll see lots of movement. We are looking forward to seeing her in 4D!

Half-Baked!

I'm just over 20 weeks along - half way there! Baby Girl looks fantastic and is growing like crazy. She's weighs almost a pound and is kicking (or doing flip-flops) all the time. Very exciting.

Steve's First Father's Day

The Good side of the family celebrated father's day Saturday. Steve got his first Father's Day card and Baby GoodNix got her first present from her grandparents.

Steve's parents also gave him a card and the perfect father's day gift - a gift certificate to Home Depot!

It's a ...

GIRL!

We had a full anatomy scan on Friday and she looks fabulous! She is growing fast and moves around constantly. Even though she's only about 4 inches long and weighs only 1.5 ounces, we could see the bone structure and anatomy clearly. And everything looks beautiful! It was so exciting to see her wiggling around.

The picture looks a little wild since it is a picture of the skeletal system, but it's not really an alien jumping bean! It's a beautiful little girl!

She is lying on her side looking at the "camera." Her face is to the left (can see head, eyes, nose, chin) her arms are both up next to her head. Her little body is below, and you can see the ribs.

May 22, 2008 - Think it looks like Dad?

2D sonogram from First Trimester Screening Test- Baby GoodNix passes first test with flying colors at almost 13 weeks old! Good job!

You can see Baby's head to the right - I think it looks like Daddy's very nice profile! Baby's hand is right in the middle - is that a wave?

We started sharing with family and close friends a couple of weeks ago and now we are ready to share our great news with the world! Mary is also feeling a lot better, and she's really getting into the pregnancy. Last weekend we looked at strollers and found out how little we know. The next 5 months getting ready for baby is going to be a real eye-opening experience for us!

April 5, 2008 - Happy Surprise!

We took a Pregnancy Test one afternoon because Mary had bought three of them and had some time to kill. Seriously. Since we just started trying, she really didn't think we were pregnant. But, guess what?!
